What happens when people stop being polite and start getting real? Since the original Real World: New York aired in 1992, America has witnessed fights, hook-ups, and leisurely breakfasts. What began as a sociological experiment became a phenomenon.

Now we're heading to into the 2.0-era, and MTV is searching for the final castmate to live in the house for the Real World: Season 20 - via online fan interaction!  We're hosting a virtual casting call, and whoever survives the elimination rounds and then gets the most votes heads to the next Real World destination. Think you can bring something special to the house? Go ahead and register to be considered as a cast member, create your profile, and then post videos, photos, and blogs that show us what makes you unique. Your objective is to make it to the last casting round and win the most votes and thus a spot on the show!  Not interested in vying for the castmate spot but wanna show your Real World love? That's fine too! Become a registered Voter and create a Voter profile. Those Voters contributing most to the site will be rewarded with virtual casting positions and the opportunity to also be featured on TV! 

Voting begins now with Round One winners determined on June 11, 2007; Round Two winners on June 28; Round Three winners on July 5; Round 4 winners on July 11; and the ultimate winner on July 18, 2007.  It's in your hands, so get going and have fun!

Whether you're here to earn a spot in the house or just to gawk and vote, you're a part of the MTV Real World 2.0 community. Here's how it works: 

(1) If you're a fan who wants to surf the site and vote, register as a Voter.
(2) You must be 14 years or older and a U.S. citizen to register to vote.
(3) Log on to our website and create your profile, post photos, blogs, and chat with other fans and users.
(4) Vote.

Half the fun is participating!  The choice is in your hands, so get on the site, find your favorite profile and vote! The more you contribute the more you will move up the ranks of the virtual fan-based casting department earning you a potential spot on TV!

Here's how the casting hierarchy works:

Voter - Requires upload of a profile and/or 0-10 votes
Casting Intern - Requires upload of a profile and 10-100 votes and/or comments
Casting Associate - Requires upload of a profile and 100-500 votes and/or comments 
Casting Director - Requires upload of a profile and 500-1000 votes and/or comments 
VP of Casting - Requires upload of a profile and a 1000+ votes and/or comments 
Head of Casting - The one fan with the most votes/comment on the entire site

Keep coming back!
After every round we notify those advancing to the next round. Then it's time to vote again giving you more time to move up that fan ladder earning you a coveted "Head of Casting" spot!

If you're interested in being considered as a castmate, register to audition:

(1) You must be 18 years or older (and should appear to be between the ages of 18-24) and a U.S. citizen to register to audition.
(2) Log on to our website and create your profile, post videos, photos, blogs, (rounds specifics link) and chat with fans.
(3) Convince us to vote for you.
(4) The more often you post, the more opportunities we have to love you. So post early and post a lot. Chat with fans, and own your page. This is all about you.

There are five (5) Rounds, and each has its own content requirements:


ROUND ONE

Round one lasts from 10:00pm (EST) May 2, 2007 until 9:00pm (EST) June 11, 2007. Those with 1000+ votes move on to the next round.

Mandatory Requirements:

(1) Upload of a 90 second video.

The video can be of anything you'd like (as long as submission is in accordance with our Terms of Use) but remember we want to get to know you as much as possible. Need some help deciding what to talk about? How about answering these questions:

Where do you go to school (with years completed and major)?
Where do you work (with brief job history)?
What are you passionate about (sports, volunteering, hobbies, politics, music, etc.)?
Do you have any phobias?
Have you ever appeared on any reality shows? Which ones?

(2) Minimum of one (1) standardized blog entry answering:
What do you consider to be your best traits? Your worst traits?

(3) Selection of a minimum of ten (10) description tags (prompted at register page)

Optional Requirements:
Upload of a minimum of three (3) photos
Should include minimum of one (1) headshot - remember we want to see you! Remaining photos can be of any pose or setting but those that reflect your personality are best.


ROUND TWO

Round two lasts from 9:00pm (EST) June 11, 2007 until 9:00am (EST) June 28, 2007 with the vote count re-setting to zero. If you missed out entering in the first round, don't fret! We'll still take your entry in our Eleventh Hour Entrant category but you'll have to play catch up. The votes will again reset to zero at the end of round two so make that final push! Top 200 make it to Round 3 along with a select number of the top vote getters from Eleventh Hour Entrants.

Mandatory Casting Requirements:

(1) Upload of a 90 second video.
Again, can be of anything you want but give us some variety. How about showing off your three (3) best skills?

(2) Minimum of one (1) standardized blog entry:
Please tell us about your parents/step-parents/guardians and describe your relationship with them. If you have siblings or extended family that are important to you, tell us about them as well.

Optional Requirements:
Upload more images - mix it up! Any cute grade school pics? Let's see ‘em!


ROUND THREE

Round three lasts from 9:00pm (EST) June 28, 2007 until 9:00am (EST) July 5, 2007 with the vote count again starting at zero. Missed out the first two rounds? Still don't fret, you won't be able to audition to be the next cast member but you'll still be able to register as a Voter. And remember, Voters with the most contributions to the site earn top fan-based virtual casting positions as well as the chance to be on TV! At the end of round three, the top Auditioners will move onto the controlled MTV production round. Always a new challenge in the Real World! Top 50 this time move onto Round Four.

Mandatory Casting Requirements:

(1) Upload of at least one NEW 90 second video.

Not sure what to upload here? How about asking three of your friends to answer the following about yourself:

What would you say was the Castee's most embarrassing moment in life?
Describe the most selfless thing the Castee has ever done?
Describe a recent major argument the Castee had with someone and who won?

(2) Minimum of TWO () standardized blog entry:
How do you handle conflicts? Do you feel that your approach is effective? Why or why not?

As well as answering:

What is the biggest problem you face?
Describe your childhood and home
Describe a major issue or event that has affected your family
Describe yourself as a competitor
Why do you want to be on the RW? Why do you think others will vote for you?
Do you drink alcohol? If yes, how do you generally behave when intoxicated?


ROUND FOUR

Pay close attention to this one!! Round Four is the one and only round controlled by MTV production. It lasts from 9:01am (EST), July 5, 2007 until 9:00am (EST), July 11, 2007 with MTV choosing their top 10 from the remaining profiles.

MTV will be contacting their top picks for a telephone interview and you must be willing to go through the proper background checks - you want only the best right?


ROUND FIVE

Round five, the final round, lasts 7 days from 9:01am (EST), July 5, 2007 until 10:00am (EST), July 18, 2007. This round is where the public has the final say. The profile with the most votes becomes the 7th castmate! Pull out all the stops and make sure it's you!!

Mandatory Casting Requirements:

(1) Upload of at least ONE 90 second video.

This is your last video and last attempt at getting all to vote for you! Why not give the world one last plea why you should be the first ever, voted by the people, Real World cast member???

Minimum of one (1) standardized blog entry answering the following:

If you were cast on the RW, what would your family be surprised to learn about you? Which of your activities or behaviors would you NOT want your family to see on TV?
